SSC CGL Job Profile


SSC CGL exam full form is Staff Selection Commission Combined Graduate Level Exam. Apart from the SSC CGL exam the Commission is responsible for holding various other national level exams for those who are class 10th passed to graduation. Some of these exams are as follows: SSC GD Constable, SSC JE, SSC Selection post, etc. The eligibility criteria for all the SSC exams is different.

SSC CGL Responsibilities

Job role of different SSC CGL posts. 

  • Assist audits in government/ public sector organisations.
  • Data entry, processing, and recording transactions.
  • Assistant Section Officer is a desk job and the lowest post in the Central Secretariat Services
  • Different clerical responsibilities like compiling files, reports, keeping track of ongoing cases, etc.
  • Assessing Income Tax payable by people or companies.
  • Managing TDS and refund claims.
  • Checking invasion of excise duty, preventing smuggling & assisting raid teams.
  • Preventing forgery and money laundering.
  • Gather information and make enquiries and investigations.
  • Illegal manufacture and transport of narcotics.
  • Drafting Documents, preparing survey reports, editing and compiling existing data.
  • Passing of various bills, salary allowances, office expenses, pension-related issues, etc.
